Pamela P. Maddox

Mrs. Maddox was elected to the Cleveland County Water Board of Commissioners beginning in December 2023.

Born in Shelby, NC, she graduated from Crest High School in 1986 and went on to earn her B.S. Degree in Education from UNC-Greensboro, specializing in Middle Grades Social Studies and Science. Continuing her academic journey, Mrs. Maddox obtained M.Ed. and Ed.S degrees in educational leadership from Fayetteville State University and Converse College, gaining certifications as a curriculum specialist, principal, and superintendent. Additionally, she pursued studies at Apex School of Technology and earned a Master of Divinity.

With a diverse career in education, Mrs. Maddox has taught in various school districts, including the former Kings Mountain, Harnett County, Cleveland County, and Florence School District I. She served as an assistant principal at both high school and middle school levels in Gaston County before joining Beaufort County School District in South Carolina. During her time there, she held positions as assistant principal and interim principal at all levels on Hilton Head Island and Bluffton. Currently, she serves as an assistant principal in Rutherfordton County Schools, embracing her role as an educational leader.

Married to Joey since 1991, Mrs. Maddox is a proud parent of two young adults. Beyond her family and educational commitments, she wears multiple hats in her community, serving as the Senior Pastor of Canaan Memorial Baptist Church, the VBS Director of EMBA, and one of the Executive Board Members of the Cleveland County Branch of the NAACP. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Mrs. Maddox's diverse interests extend to reading, teaching, preaching, watching football, working with youth, and serving as a health coach and travel advisor.
