Water Plant Superintendent/ORC

Mr. Gilbert has been employed with Cleveland County Water since 2016 as the Water Plant Superintendent/ORC. Prior to this he served as the Water Plant Superintendent for the City of Newton from 2013-2016 and a Water Plant Operator for the City of Lincolnton from 2006-2013.

Mr. Gilbert was born and raised in Lincolnton, NC where he graduated from West Lincoln High School in 2006. He is a member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA), the NC Water Operators Association (NCWOA), the OASIS Shriners, an FCA Chapter Advisor for West Lincoln High School and a Volunteer Fireman with the Northbrook Volunteer Fire Department where he serves as the Assistant Fire Chief.

Mr. Gilbert holds an A Distribution Operators Certificate, an A Surface Water Treatment Certificate, a Grade I Physical/Chemical Waste Water license and a Bacteriological Certificate all from the State of NC. He is also a certified instructor for many of the NC Water Operators certification courses.

Mr. Gilbert has been married to his wife Brandi since 2007 and they have one son in middle school. He attends church at Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Vale where he operates the sound system.

In his spare time, he enjoys working with his son and taking him to travel baseball and hunting.
