Customer Service Representative

Cleveland County Water (CCW) is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time, on-site position of Customer Service Representative. This position performs administrative support work receiving and processing customer utility payments, preparing disconnect and reconnect lists, entering data into computer system, and assisting the public.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Receive and process payments for utility bills; balances daily cash drawer and verifies accuracy
  • Receive and process applications for new service and water service tap requests
  • Answer telephone; receives and responds to customer inquiries or complaints regarding utility bills in person or via telephone
  • Call in locates and maintenance calls; processes work orders
  • Receive and process incoming and outgoing mail
  • Enter a variety of data into computer system
  • Prepare service disconnect and reconnect lists
  • Perform other related work as apparent or assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience in customer service or collections operations preferred
  • Experience working with the public preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license in the State of North Carolina
